Shopping Catuaí Palladium

Parking at a shopping mall – easily monitored and controlled from 600 km away
 
Opened on June 10, 2016, the Catuaí Palladium is a shopping and leisure center in Foz do Iguaçu. Its 221 stores include 15 major brand retailers, as well as 20 fast food outlets, a boulevard of restaurants and six movie theaters. To manage the specific needs of the Palladium, SKIDATA installed a variety of different products such as access columns. The company controls the installation by remote monitoring from their head office in Curitiba, 600 km from the mall in Foz do Iguaçu. Since July 2019, digital payment options have been implemented, ensuring a 100 % automatic and fraud-free charging operation.

Grupo Tacla, the mall administrators, were already familiar with SKIDATA’s expertise from their facilities in Europe. The initial intention was to acquire a new installation, with three entrances, exits and free parking to improve the control of vehicle flow using innovative equipment and offering publicity options and a loyalty program.
Access columns were installed at the entrance and exit, with a digital ticket solution for employees and monthly parking users, reducing the number of paper and proximity cards issued and minimizing the mall’s operating costs. In addition to the digital ticket solution – with no existing competitors on the market – the ability to remotely monitor the systems also appealed to the client since their head office is in the city of Curitiba, 600 km from the mall in Foz do Iguaçu.
The results of SKIDATA’s installation have been fantastic. The product garnered high praise from clients for its robustness and reliability. Different marketing initiatives were implemented, with campaigns including the launch of new stores in the mall, Pink October and Blue November, when the colors of the automatic barriers were changed accordingly. New clients are attracted by the bold and modern design of SKIDATA’s parking equipment. The system has proved so successful that Grupo Tacla has closed other business deals with SKIDATA; Shopping Palladium Curitiba and Jockey Plaza Shopping.

We believed that SKIDATA was going to be good for our shopping center, but once installed it was much better, it exceeded our expectations. Our biggest challenge in managing shopping mall parking is to have confidence in the equipment. We believed and trust in the proper function of the reports and the systems.
