With approximately 22,000 season ticket holders and regular Champions League matches, the club required a solution that could not only handle high-volume access but also support their pioneering digital strategy and data-driven approach to fan engagement.

Club Brugge is one of Belgium's leading football clubs.

The club chose SKIDATA based on its proven track record with major European clubs like Benfica, Juventus, and Manchester United.

The solution delivers exceptional performance with 61 Door.Gate readers installed on OEM turnstiles and 28 handhelds for VIP & Parking access.

During Champions League matches, it processes up to 500 fans per minute - a significant improvement that ensures smooth entry for the club's 22,000 season ticket holders. The SKIDATA system serves both the main Jan Breydel Stadium and The Nest Roeselare where Club Brugge's youth team Club Nxt plays in the second division of the Belgian Pro League.

Club Brugge implemented a pioneering data strategy through SKIDATA's comprehensive API integration. The system provides a 360-degree view of fan behavior through centralized login and ticketing integration.

This allows the club to:

track merchandise and food spending,
analyze fan movement patterns, and
monitor digital touchpoint interactions.

Additionally, it offers the flexibility to integrate custom solutions through the club's app. The implementation includes unique notification interfaces and integration with two ticketing partners, Roboticket and iXpole.

For a legendary venue like the Jan Breydel Stadium, investing in convenient, future-ready solutions is crucial. SKIDATA's hardware adds the modern convenience features that are essential for fans.

The system's offline functionality provides key improvements:

turnstiles continue to operate during network outages
access points maintain communication with each other
fans can enter without interruption, regardless of network status

This ensures a seamless experience even in challenging technical conditions.

The key benefit of SKIDATA's new system is that it simply works. For our Champions League matches, we saw that we could allow up to 500 fans per minute into the stadium. That is a massive improvement compared to the past.
