Charity Challenge: A new challenge begins

This year, the Charity Challenge starts on June 15. Our competition? Quehenberger, once again. Our goal? To raise as much money as possible for Herzkinder Österreich.

We’re ready: This year, Team SKIDATA is taking part in the Charity Challenge again, and we’re jogging, walking and hiking for a good cause. Starting on June 15, the Charity Challenge will reach its grand finale on September 15 at the Salzburger Businesslauf as is tradition. Team SKIDATA is well acquainted with the challenge already: Last year alone, 107 participants covered 19,974 kilometers under the motto unite2win. And it’s all for a good cause: For every kilometer covered in the Charity Challenge 2021, participating organizations will donate 21 cents to Herzkinder Österreich.

We accept the challenge, so let’s get started

Never change a winning team. This year, Quehenberger will be our challengers once again. We’re going head-to-head in a friendly athletic competition to raise as much money as we can for Herzkinder Österreich together by running, walking and hiking. Other participants in the challenge include Salzburg-based companies and organizations like Commend, Copa Data, Digital Electronics, Stepa Kran, Salzburg Research, Movea, nic.at, Findologic and Salomon.

Our goal: To the moon, and much further

Amidst the pandemic in the year 2020, participating organizations covered 80,000 kilometers and raised 16,760 Euros (with companies rounding up a bit) for Herzkinder Österreich. The Grand Finale at the Salzburg Businesslauf was cancelled at the very last minute due to COVID restrictions last year, which meant we missed out on the additional donations that were to be collected at the Salzburg Businesslauf. This year, we hope things will be different.

In any case, we’re highly motivated for the challenge ahead. With the other participating teams, our shared goal is to run a distance as far as from Salzburg to the moon–384,4000 kilometers in total–and to reach a six-figure donation to benefit children with cancer.

Now it’s Team SKIDATA’s turn: We’re calling on everyone to get involved for a good cause, and to get ready for an active summer.
