Grand finale of the Laufchallenge at the Salzburger Businesslauf and cheque handover to Herzkinder Austria

The Salzburger Businesslauf was again the grand finale of this year’s Laufchallenge. Six companies – Commend International, COPA-DATA, Digital Elektronik,, Salzburg Research and SKIDATA – took part in running duels, promoted with the slogan “Challenge accepted: We run and help”. Donations amounting to 15,700 Euro went to Herzkinder Austria.

From 10 June to 12 September, the runners of the six teams from Commend International, COPA-DATA, Digital Elektronik,, Salzburg Research and SKIDATA covered a sensational 44,419.70 kilometres. For comparison, this is more than the distance around the Earth along the equator. All participating companies rewarded the performance of their teams with a donation of 19 cents per kilometre covered in the race. A total of 8,439.74 euros, rounded up to 15,700 euros, was donated to Herzkinder Austria on 19 September.

Herzkinder Austria

Since 2006, parents have found support, advice and assistance at Herzkinder Austria and can discuss experiences with other affected parents who feel desperate and helpless after the frightening diagnosis of their children’s heart disease. Together with a team of 24 employees, Herzkinder Austria currently looks after more than 4,000 affected families throughout Austria and tries to find parents as soon as their children are diagnosed and to accompany them on their way.

A big thank you to all runners

Without the committed runners this donation would not have been possible. We would therefore like to thank our sporting colleagues, who have invested a lot of time and energy in this challenge. For them, the good cause was not the only motivation to take part. Each and every one of them was rewarded with team spirit, fitness, fun and a personal sense of achievement.

This year, SKIDATA challenged its long-term business partner Digital Elektronik to the running duel. For SKIDATA there were 82 participants, for Digital Elektronik 52. Each partner company won part of the competition. Team SKIDATA covered the greater total distance with 13,219.60 kilometres. Digital Elektronik won the challenge of kilometres per runner with 218.89 kilometres per participant. Together, the runners of our two companies ran an impressive 24,601.90 kilometres. Many thanks to all participants for their sporting commitment.

A total of almost 6,000 running enthusiasts competed at the grand finale of the Salzburg Business Run on 12 September. Our participants did a great job. Our fastest team in the demanding Q-Trail was “SKIDATA Controlling” with Moritz, Amra and Manuel, who finished 11th in the Mixed Team category (178 teams in total). The fastest SKIDATA team in the classic business race was “SKIDATA Austria Road Runners” with Lissi, Bernhard and André, who crossed the finish line in 88th place in the Mixed Team category (512 teams in total).

In the individual classifications, Moritz finished 16th in the Q-Trail with a fantastic time of 47:28 minutes (out of 458 finishers), making him the fastest SKIDATA runner. The fastest female SKIDATA runner was Julia, who completed the classic business run in 27:11 minutes – and was therefore less than three minutes behind Markus (24:27 minutes), who finished the classic business run as the fastest male SKIDATA runner.

Congratulations to all participants! Many thanks also to our partner Digital Elektronik for accepting our challenge. We are proud of the great achievements of both teams and each individual runner and we are not only happy about the sporting success, but also that we can support the important work of Herzkinder Austria. Challenge completed. Ready for the next one!
