Working with passion

SKIDATA offers training in seven different apprenticeships– and offers a career in an internationally active high-tech company.

"It was a great experience to take part in this competition among 500 apprentices from all over Europe and to get to know other young people who pursue their profession with the same passion as I do," Pascal says enthusiastically. Pascal took part in the European Professional Championships as state champion in the field of electronics apprenticeship and was a worthy representative of the Austrian team. In the competition, the apprentices can prove themselves and test their skills. The fact that Pascal is one of the best apprentices in Europe impressively confirms SKIDATA's training concept. It was no coincidence that the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce named us the best training company in 2012.

If like Pascal you want to apprentice as an electronics technician, you should have a willingness to learn, knowledge of English and a quick grasp of things. An affinity for technology and dexterity are also advantageous. Among other things, we teach our trainees how to analyze circuits, plan and organize projects or develop and repair circuit boards. In the technical college, the necessary theoretical knowledge is imparted, for example, basic economic knowledge, measuring technique, component science, material science, and transmission techniques. The focus of the training as an electronics technician is on circuit development, troubleshooting, quality assurance, the production of printed circuit boards as well as drilling, turning and milling.

In addition to electronics technicians, we at SKIDATA offer six other apprenticeships: media specialist in the field of media design; mechatronics engineer; technician, in the field of information technology; computer scientist, in the field of information technology; office clerk, and business logistics clerk. We attach great importance to proper training because to be able to operate successfully in Austria and abroad in the future we need young, talented people who want to work with us. We take on committed trainees after graduation. We support their career planning and offer attractive career prospects.

We are currently training around 20 apprentices in six of the seven apprenticeship occupations mentioned above. We value our apprentices from the very beginning as full members of our organization and give them the opportunity to use and expand their strengths and talents. Specialist training courses help them to develop further. These offer the apprentices a significant advantage. They learn how to work independently and at the same time be an international team player. 1,450 people work at SKIDATA, and with more than 70 countries represented in our workforce. For us, SKIDATA is more than just a job– and we are looking for young people who share our passion.
