Salzburg, 21. February 2017. SKIDATA management is again able to announce a record turnover: in the 2016 fiscal year the Salzburg access expert realized over €292 million, which corresponds to a growth of more than 12% - and the prospects for the future are also promising.
In 2016, the SKIDATA Group generated a consolidated annual turnover in accordance with IFRS of €292 million, which represents a growth of more than 12%. The record result for the Salzburg specialists in innovative people access solutions and parking systems resulted from both the organic growth of the company as well as an acquisition in America. The acquisition of the American company Protection Technologies, Inc. (PTI) contributed a figure in the low single-digit millions to the revenue growth. The international presence was expanded with the opening of new offices in Dubai and Mexico, which can now benefit from the entire range of SKIDATA know-how as well as the company’s strong total solution from a single source - access management systems, software, hardware, third-party systems and all the associated services. The number of countries in which SKIDATA solutions are located also rose to more than 100 with first installations in Botswana, Egypt, Kenya, Tunisia and the Philippines.
"We are very proud that we were able to exceed the record set in the 2015 business year. And even today, the whole international team is already working to take another step further. In 2017, we will continue to offer our customers the best access solutions, innovative products and perfect service," said Hugo Rohner, CEO of SKIDATA AG.
One of these innovative products is the loyalty program, which is already helping over 30 professional sports clubs in the USA. Among these teams is the Seattle Sounders FC, the winner of the 2016 American Major League Soccer Cup. It was also in 2016 that the loyalty program was put into service for the first time in Europe. For the French soccer club AS Nancy, SKIDATA integrated the platform into the existing ticketing and access control systems, as well the stands selling the food and drinks and also merchandising area.
Worldwide SKIDATA now has 1,350 employees, 25 subsidiaries and 4 joint ventures and is represented in over 100 countries. In 2016 the Salzburg company generated a record turnover of €292 million.
