Always One Ski Length Ahead with SKIDATA

Salzburg, 10. April 2013. Checking in to the ski resort on social networks and enjoying products that money can’t buy. At Interalpin exhibition, SKIDATA presents solutions that offer additional value especially for ski resort guests. SKIDATA Online solutions unleash in the future new capabilities for ski resort operators.

Interalpin is the worldwide leading exhibition for the cable car industry. Every two years, companies present their latest solutions and services in Innsbruck. Being the number one in the area of access technologies for mountain destinations, the company from Salzburg, SKIDATA, is also present. True to the motto “Always One Step Ahead”, it presents products that do not only facilitate the daily work of ski resort operators, but also increase customer service. In doing so, it especially counts on online solutions besides conventional hardware. “In a time, during which everyone is constantly online everywhere using smartphones, tablets or laptops, products also have to change in that direction. SKIDATA has been focusing on web-based services for some time, and is proud to present them at Interalpin,” says Hugo Rohner, CEO at SKIDATA AG.

Welcome to the „Future Zone“

It is already popular at places, restaurant and bars or events: Checking in on Facebook. Now it is also possible to tell friends where you are while skiing. Using the SKIDATA app, the check in is recorded in the respective ski resort when entering the first time on the day and a corresponding Facebook entry is automatically created on your own profile.

Operators can offer special services to their ski guest using loyalty programs. The use of mountain railways, skiing in bad weather, number of vertical meters, us of certain sales channels etc. can result in bonus points for the ski guest. He can exchange these for services, which are determined by the operators. In this way, ski guests can enjoy products that money cannot buy: riding on a snow groomer, VIP parking right in front of the ski lift or the exclusive use of cable cars before the official start of the ski day are only a few possibilities for this.

Always One Step Ahead With SKIDATA Online

Besides services for ski guests and high-quality hardware, SKIDATA is particularly focusing on the latest solution at this year’s Interalpin: SKIDATA Online. With this, ski resort operators can access business-relevant information of their ski resort via smartphone, laptop or tablet anytime and anywhere. They neither require a server nor storage space, nor have to do updates, but are still always up-to-date thanks to automatic software updates. Additionally, various business areas such as the ski resort and car park can be connected. The ski guest only requires one ticket for the use of all services.

SKIDATA in Mountain Destinations

SKIDATA has longstanding experience and takes up the role as a pioneer in the area of access management for mountain destinations. It was the first company to offer electronically printed tickets and cash registers for ski resorts in 1977. Today, touch-free access to ski slopes is taken for granted – and the company is now the worldwide number one for access solutions and ticketing for alpine sport regions. SKIDATA offers comprehensive solutions: from flexible technology to attractive services to the management of the entire IT infrastructure.
