At SKIDATA, security of personal data is an important concern. SKIDATA operates in accordance with the applicable statutes regarding protection of personal data, as well as in accordance with European data protection law under Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and Council dated October 25, 1995 for the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, ABI L 281 dated November 11, 1995, 31 ff.

1. Personal data
SKIDATA websites do not record users' personal data (e.g. names, addresses, telephone numbers of email addresses), unless users voluntarily provide such data (e.g. by registering or sending a query), or otherwise agree to provide such data, or if the applicable data protection statutes permit such collection. If SKIDATA web sites provide the option to enter personal data, such user data will be used for the purposes described below.

2. Purpose and purpose-related use
SKIDATA collects the following user data for the following purposes:

  • User name – to enable website access so that you can change data yourself
  • Email address – to transmit lost login data and current information
  • Location – to determine the region in the display or link
  • Date of birth (if provided voluntarily) – to obtain demographic data regarding our users and to optimize offerings according to certain age groups.
  • Personal biography, interests or other voluntary information are obtained to facilitate and personalize communication. (Such data is not mandatory, but purely voluntary. Each user can decide which data will be provided.)
  • Passwords and user names are used to provide a system login as well as to enable enhanced website functions

For technical reasons, the SKIDATA website software stores all information freely provided via forms (e.g. during registration, submission of comments, etc.). This particularly concerns links, comments, user names, email addresses, passwords (coded by us and cannot be decrypted by us or by third parties without criminal intent), as well as voluntary information which you consciously transmit. You may provide fabricated data. In the event of misuse, attacks or the publication of illegal material, such transmitted data will be provided upon court order.

Information supplied via the contact form / email are additionally stored on a local PC using an email program (this is to document communication and respond more quickly to inquiries). SKIDATA will delete such email upon written request.

Server log data (log files)
For technical reasons the operator of this web site automatically collects and stores server log data transmitted by your browser:

  • Operating system
  • Browser type/version
  • Referring site (URL of the website you used to reach us.)
  • IP address (spam protection, unique identification)
  • Time of your visit

Data stored by the server cannot and will not be assigned to a natural person. After 14 days, the log files are automatically deleted, or deleted after statistical analysis. Please understand that server log data is absolutely necessary for the security and protection of this web presence. In addition, SKIDATA and its global affiliates use this information to determine the attractivity of their websites and to improve their efficiency and content.

Cookies
The operator of the website and the software installed on the server use cookies. Cookies are text files containing login information, providing automatic system login, for example, and enable enhanced functionalities. (e.g. password entry not required). Cookies only store your login information and cannot cause damage to your computer. You can define the duration of cookies yourself in the user profile on your computer; cookies can be deleted from your computer at any time. Cookies are technically required to verify you as a logged-in user.

Social Plug-Ins
SKIDATA website uses so called Social Plugins (“Plugins”) of the social networks (“Social Media”) facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”), of google.com, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043,USA (“Google”) and of twitter.com, which is operated by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA (“Twitter”).

The Plugins are identifiable by Facebook-Button (developers.facebook.com/plugins), Twitter-Button (https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons) and Google +1-Button (https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/).

By clicking on one of the aforementioned buttons you give the explicit consent to the use of the respective Plugin and activate it. Without your consent no connection to Social Media is established.

If one or more Plugins are active, the respective Social Media will get the information that you have visited the SKIDATA website with your IP-address. When you click a Social Media Button while you are logged in your social media user account, you can link the content of SKIDATA website on your Social Media Profile. This enables the respective Social Media to assign your visit of the SKIDATA website to your Social Media Account.

SKIDATA hereby gives notice that SKIDATA as provider has no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data and the use of them through the Social Media.

Purpose and detail of the data assessment and the further use and analysis of the Data through the Social Media and your thus related personal rights and control functions and settings options to protect your private data, can be found in the data disclaimers of Facebook (www.facebook.com/policy.php), Google (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/privacy). Under the mentioned Links you find detailed information regarding type, purposes and use of your personal data.

If you are a member of Facebook, Google or Twitter and do not want them to collect your data via our website and to store it in relationship to your member account, you will need to deactivate the Plugin and/or log out of the social media prior to the visit of our website and you may also have to delete any related cookies locally stored by Facebook, Google or Twitter.

Security
SKIDATA employs technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unintentional or illegal deletion, modification or loss, and against improper transmission or unauthorized access.

Right to information
You have the right to obtain information regarding stored personal data, its source and recipient, as well as the purpose of its retention. Please get in touch with us via the contact data provided on the Legal Information page. In order to obtain information, you must identify yourself (as the person about whom the information is to be provided) or verify that you are authorized to receive information regarding a third party.

SKIDATA-Newsletter

By subscribing to any of the SKIDATA newsletter and event invitations (Newsletters) you indicate that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions (including SKIDATA Privacy Policy) and that you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Managing your subscription

To receive Newsletters you have to provide the following information: salutation, first name, last name, email-address, company and country. Readers who do not longer want to receive the Newsletters can unsubscribe from the Newsletters at all time by clicking a link named “Unsubscribe” which is embedded in every Newsletter or by sending an email to news@skidata.com.

Privacy

Personal information about you may be collected for the primary purpose of keeping you informed about SKIDATA. Your personal information will be processed with MailChimp, an email marketing company based in United States of America. MailChimp complies with the U.S.–E.U. and U.S.–Swiss Safe Harbor Framework, which is overseen by the U.S. Department of Commerce and covers the collection, use, and retention of personal data from European Union member countries and Switzerland. MailChimp certifies that they follow the principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. TRUSTe regularly reviews the compliance with this Privacy Policy. The users profile and information’s contained therein can be changed or deleted as well by clicking a link named “Change Profile” which is embedded in every Newsletter. If the reader of the Newsletter wants to forward the Newsletter to a friend or colleague, SKIDATA requests the name and the respective email address.

When we send Newsletters we will sometimes track who opened the emails and who clicked the links. We do that to measure our Email Campaigns’ performance and to improve our content for specific segments of customers. To do this, MailChimp includes single pixel gifs, also called web beacons, in emails. Web beacons allow collecting information about when you open the email, your IP address, your browser or email client type, and other similar details. We particularly want to highlight that the System tracks the IP address.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Austria, and you unconditionally submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Austria. Although Austrian Newsletters may be distributed or otherwise accessed outside Austria, SKIDATA makes no representation that the content complies with the laws of any other country. If you receive the Newsletters at a location outside Austria, you are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with your local laws and for any reliance on Newsletter content.

Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States . Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Regarding the application of analysis tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to add that this website running Google Analytics uses the extension "_anonymizelp()" and as a result only a shortened form of IP addresses will be processed in order to ensure anonymity.
