Amsterdam/Salzburg, 6. April 2016. The city of Amsterdam puts its confidence in the high-quality access solutions from SKIDATA. The city of Amsterdam exploits more than 25,000 parking lots in 22 garages. The value-based public tender was focused on a long-term partnership to explore future parking technologies, services and innovations like paying by mobile phones and the introduction of e-ticketing.
In the business office and event district Zuidoost the city of Amsterdam exploits more than 11,200 parking lots. One finds here, among other things, the Amsterdam Arena (Ajax Amsterdam Stadium), the Ziggo Dome, the Heineken Music Hall (HMH) as well as a large shopping center and numerous office buildings. On event days there are over 10,000 parking transactions made.
SKIDATA starts with equipping four parkings located in Zuidoost. The intention is that SKIDATA will equip another four parkings in Zuidoost and an additional fourteen in the city center and other areas of Amsterdam. They will be equipped with state-of-the-art solutions for vehicle access management. The city of Amsterdam relies heavily on innovations in parking and has set itself the goal that customers can choose freely between parking on the street or in garages (on-street or off-street) and pay the entire parking fee conveniently over their mobile device.
For Amsterdam this value-based public tender was focused on the areas of innovation, quality, proven technology as well as experience. The city is convinced that with SKIDATA it has found a partner who satisfies these points 100%.
