Smart Access Solutions for North America and South America

SKIDATA Group has operated successfully in North America for ten years and has estab-lished itself as a popular provider of access management solutions in North American and South American markets. It offers clients from Chile to Canada the full range of SKIDATA services, including its new sweb cloud solutions.

Salzburg – September, 2011 – SKIDATA, a recognized global leader in access management, is enjoying increasing popularity in the Americas – across all business areas from parking manage-ment to solutions for mountain destinations and visitor management for stadiums, arenas, amusement parks and convention centers. Intelligent services and a high level of reliability are impressing clients and opening the way for new projects.

Parking management for airports, universities and shopping centers
SKIDATA has gained many well-known clients with its clever parking solutions. For instance, SKIDATA was selected to provide parking management at the world's third
largest airport, Dallas Fort Worth. With the know-how collected from other major projects, SKIDATA was able to complete the two parking areas, one year before the scheduled date. The parking areas are now part of the airport's revenue stream.

In addition to Dallas Fort Worth, other airports benefiting from SKIDATA expertise include John Wayne Airport near Los Angeles and Canada's Montreal Airport. At Lester P. Pearson Airport in Toronto, SKIDATA has equipped parking garage no. 6 as part of a first phase. Plans call for installing SKIDATA systems at further facilities.

Since April 2011, SKIDATA has provided technology to make parking easy, convenient and secure for some 15,000 students and employees of Scarborough University. SKIDATA is also used in shopping centers in the Americas. For example, SKIDATA manages parking for the Chilean shopping center operators Cencosud and Mall Plaza, including the Hotel Ritz in Santiago de Chile, as well as for the city of Ottawa in Canada.

Hit the slopes with energy: From Canada to Tierra del Fuego

In the US state of Washington, the Stevens Pass area in the Cascade Mountains not only treats its visitors to outstanding snow but also features attractions such as night skiing under floodlights. Access is provided by SKIDATA's efficient and convenient RFID controlled systems.

SKIDATA's hands-free RFID technology is also used in the popular Aspen ski area. Access via RFID has also shortened wait times and impressed guests in Aspen, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk.

The same can be said for Le Massif in Quebec. Since converting to rechargeable chipcards with RFID technology, guests at this popular ski resort have enjoyed gates that open automatically at their approach.

SKIDATA has also won converts in Argentina where long-time client Catedral in the beautiful lakes city of Bariloche has been joined by the ski resorts Las Leñas and Cerro Castor in Uschuaia, at the “tip of the world” in Tierra del Fuego.

Winning over fans with visitor management by SKIDATA

SKIDATA's access management solutions have proven track records in many arenas worldwide. Stadiums in US cities are now also adding this sophisticated technology. For instance, the MLS club Philadelphia Union in Chester on the Delaware River uses SKIDATA systems. At the Union's stadium, SKIDATA provides access control for 18,500 fans with its Smart Card RFID technology. For sales, stadium operators rely on SKIDATA Print@Home and SKIDATA Business Services for intelligent solutions that build customer loyalty and provide member support.

More than technology

SKIDATA solutions offer significantly more than access management. Many clients successfully use SKIDATA Hosted Services and sweb .

Services such as Sales.Services provide customers information about parking offers and other services directly on their PCs, phones or navi devices. Operator.Services provides service personnel a complete overview and access control to all systems, even remotely. Manage-ment.Services ensures that data from the access system can be used directly in the Business Intelligence Tool. Investment in additional hardware and software is not necessary, since SKIDATA also makes the required infrastructure for hosted services available to its clients.

SKIDATA sweb enables clients to access their tools from any location. All you need is a web browser and internet connection to keep up with your business and make decisions at any time. SKIDATA ensures that data is backed up securely and applications are accessible, enabling clients to focus fully on commercial activities.
