SKIDATA equips stadiums
of the European Football Championship 2012

Salzburg, Austria – 5th June 2012. SKIDATA equips half of the stadiums of the UEFA European Football Championship starting June 8th 2012 in Poland and the Ukraine. SKIDATA is providing state-of-the-art access management solutions to manage flows of visitors into the stadiums as well as Point-Of-Sale solutions for hospitality premises.

SKIDATA is a leading global provider of access management solutions. The Salzburg-based company has deployed many stadium access solutions worldwide, including systems for the last football World Championship in South Africa.

SKIDATA got the winning bid for four of the eight stadiums of the 2012 UEFA EURO: the national stadium (Warsaw, Poland) and the Miejski Stadium (Wroclaw, Poland), as well as the Donbass Arena (Donetsk, Ukraine) and the Metalist Stadium (Charkov, Ukraine) have been equipped with SKIDATA’s solutions. SKIDATA's years of experience and tremendous amount of know-how impressed the event organizers. Charles Egli, CEO of SKIDATA AG: "Our offering includes the full range of access technology. This enables our clients to focus entirely on their strategy and plans. We provide the technology that meets their needs."

At the new national stadium, 58,000 spectators will attend the opening match and further EURO 2012 games. After the Championship, the stadium will be used for sporting, cultural and musical events. As a system integrator, SKIDATA has implemented access control, ticketing and hospitality cash register systems to provide smooth access and optimal security in the stadium premises. Thanks to SKIDATA's technology, fans can buy their tickets online or obtain them at one of the six ticketing and season ticket cash register points. Food & Beverage kiosks and merchandising stands will also be equipped with hospitality cash registers. An access solution was also deployed at the Miejski Stadium, which was built for the EURO 2012.

In the Ukraine, the Donbass Arena and the Metalist Stadium have already been fully operational since 2009.

For all four stadiums, SKIDATA cooperates with Smartmachine/WWTS, Gotschlich, Micros Fidelio and Gastop.
