According to practical experiences the following extensions of the photo compare application have been implemented.
History of control photos
These functions allow for a much better argumentation by the operator in case of fraud:
- all control photos of the actual day are stored
- for the history (e.g. for season tickets) the first and last control photo per day are kept
- the photo history is available as listing in the photo compare application and the ticket tracking
- the ticket tracking can directly be clicked on and printed in the photo compare application
The photos will be deleted in the system automatically after the expiration of the permissions validity plus configurable offset time.
This mechanism is necessary to fulfil legal data privacy regulations.
Relative time filters in the photo comparison application
Additionally to the possibility of absolute time ranges in the filter definition (e.g. 01.01.2009 - 03.01.2009) it is now also possible to define relative time ranges: e.g. all photos of the last x hours.
This allows for even more flexible definition of the needed time related filter selection.
Permanent blockings
In case of fraud an optional permanent blocking (= control blocking without delete option) can be set.
This allows for even more restrictive checks, as the guest will be blocked at each access station, until the blocking will be deleted centrally at the datacentral or permitted cash desks. Of course, the guests convenience will suffer through such restrictive controlling. Releases by the operator or expiration of the entered blocking time will result in a standard access transaction.
‘Keep Alive’ of the photo comparison application
The photo comparison application is linked to the datacentral via a webservice.
The advantage of this concept is the ability to install and operate it on each PC in the customer network. On the other hand, this had also the disadvantage that the application had to be restarted after a webserver timeout.
This deficit has now been solved by an automatic check and uphold of the connection, which simplifies the operating and makes any new starts of the application unnecessary.
Release V17.03.00
The following improvements simplify the handling of the photo comparison application for the operator:
- Saving of selected filter criteria: these can now be chosen from a selection box for re-use
- Multiple selection of values upon filter definition
- The photos to be matched against can be enlarged by a mouse click, even to original size for very detailed checks.
